What is the minimum information needed for a meaningful bottle-washer quotation?
A meaningful bottle-washer quotation needs the bottle material, key dimensions, neck opening, incoming condition, contamination or label duty, required outgoing condition, target output, handling preference, utilities and available footprint. A simple line sketch and photographs usually remove more uncertainty than a long generic description.
Where any item is unknown, state that it is unknown rather than estimating. Lancing can then identify which samples, measurements or site checks are needed before the quotation can be finalised.
Should both clean and contaminated bottle samples be supplied?
Both clean and contaminated samples are useful when contamination affects the project. Clean samples confirm dimensions, handling and any acceptable reference finish; contaminated samples show the worst residue, label, adhesive, odour or moisture condition the washer must address.
Mark samples clearly so the trial team can distinguish the reference, typical and worst-case bottles. Where previous contents are unknown or potentially hazardous, do not send them until safe handling and transport have been agreed.
How many sample bottles should be sent for a trial?
The number of sample bottles depends on the formats, contamination variation, test sequence and machine route; one bottle is rarely enough to represent a production population. Supply enough clearly identified samples to cover each important bottle family, typical contamination, worst-case contamination, label age and any expected damage variation.
Lancing should confirm the practical quantity before shipment because an inline run, rotary handling check and label-removal test require different sample volumes. Do not send unknown chemical residues without prior agreement.
Which drawings and photographs help with bottle-washer line integration?
Useful integration evidence includes a dimensioned site or line layout, conveyor height and direction, available straight length, access doors, nearby columns or services, filler infeed requirements, drainage points, control-panel position and photographs taken both along and across the proposed line.
For an existing line, include the upstream and downstream machine interfaces, bottle accumulation available and any stop/start or interlock requirement. A marked-up sketch is acceptable at the early stage if it shows real dimensions.
